Dr. Raffael Guggenheim
Dr. Guggenheim graduated from Zurich University in 1996 and specialised in paediatrics at the Kinderspital Zurich. In 2004 he was awarded a fellowship in clinical immunology and allergy at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. Upon return to Switzerland, he now works at the Paediatric Department of the Triemli Children Hospital in Zurich. In medical ethics his areas of interest include beginning and the end of life issues, especially palliative care in the view of Jewish law. He is a board member of Kinderärzte Schweiz, JMEC and IMA, Switzerland.
Dr. Daniel Passweg
Dr. Daniel Passweg studied at the Medical Faculty of the University of Berne and did his training in gynaecology and obstetrics in the Kantonsspital Aarau. Since 1994 he works as deputy chief of gynaecology/obstetrics at the Triemli City Hospital in Zurich. His main medical interests are general obstetrics, urological gynaecology and laparoscopic surgery. In his daily practice, he contacts with a range of Jewish patients across the spectrum of the Jewish community. In this position, Dr. Passweg is continuously exposed to topics of infertility and fertility management in the context of Jewish law and ethics.
PD Raphael Patcas, PhD
Dr. Raphael Patcas is a dentist and board certified orthodontist and dentofacial orthopaedist, working as a senior lecturer and deputy head at the Center of Dental and Oral Medicine, University of Zurich. He wrote his doctorate thesis on neuroanatomy and behaviour in 2006, wrote a PhD (approved with honours) in 2014, and has currently submitted his habilitation. In 2009, he published a widely acclaimed compendium on oral pathology and has authored several contributions in peer-reviewed scientific journals, notably on craniofacial radiology. Since 2013 he has been serving the community working voluntarily within the Swiss Kashrut Board investigating medical products.
